School of Education and teacher education graduates in the Class of 2012 have already begun to make their impact across the world.

With many attending graduate school and employed in local and global schools, communities, and agencies from Philadelphia, Pa., to Thailand, recent graduates of the School of Education leave Elon ready to put knowledge into practice, instilled with a strong ethic of work and service.
Education majors worked with Rhonda Kosusko in the Student Professional Development Center in productive partnerships that assisted them in their searches and graduate school applications.
The following students have confirmed employment and graduate school acceptance:
• Heather Babb, music education, accepts her father’s retired vacancy as a music teacher at Mountain Heritage High School in Burnsville, N.C.
• Sophia Bauers, Spanish with teacher licensure, plans to attend Wake Forest University to pursue a master’s degree in Education.
• Katie (Catherine) Brophy, Spanish with teacher licensure, has accepted a position as a North American Language and Cultural Assistant, Ministerio de Educacion de Espana, in Madrid, Spain.
• Chelsea Gund, elementary education, will be teaching in Washington, D.C.
• Corey Hutkin, history with teacher licensure, has accepted a high social studies teacher position at Mastery Charter Network in Philadelphia, Pa.
• Kara Newell, elementary education, has accepted a position teaching English in Egypt.
• Kaylyn Smialek, elementary education, has accepted a special education teaching position in London, England.
• Katie Smith, elementary education, will be teaching English as a foreign language through ESLstarter in Bangkok, Thailand.
• Kelsey Thompson, elementary education, has accepted a lead teacher position at Thales Academy in Wake County, N.C.
