Five students from Elon University’s Better Together group attended a national Interfaith Leadership Institute in Philadelphia the week of July 16, 2012.

The institute, sponsored by the Interfaith Youth Core, was held on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. More than 100 attendees from colleges and universities such as Penn, Depaul, Rice, and The George Washington University participated in workshops focused on bringing interfaith engagement back to their respective campuses.

Students attending from Elon were Sarah Beese, Matt Johnson, Immanuel Bryant, Mason Sklut, and Kimberly Gersh. They were accompanied by Better Together adviser Anthony Hatcher, associate professor of communications.

Interfaith Youth Core was founded in 2002 by Eboo Patel as an interfaith youth movement focused on service.
