Bestselling author Lisa Alther to visit Elon – Nov. 8

New York Times bestselling author Lisa Alther visits Elon University on Nov. 8 to talk about her novels and her career in a program co-sponsored by the Department of English, the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, the Liberal Arts Forum and General Studies.

The 7:30 p.m. talk in LaRose Digital Theatre is free and open to the public.

Born in Kingsport, Tenn., Alther has authored six novels, including Kinflicks, Original Sings and Washed in Blood. Her novels are studied in university courses in English literature, Southern literature, Appalachian literature, women’s studies, gay and lesbian studies, sociology and psychology.

She graduated from Wellesley College with a bachelor’s degree in English literature.
