Jon Metzger Appears on Three New Recordings

Jon Metzger recently collaborated with several jazz musicians to produce new recordings, including a two-CD set.


Professor of Music and Artist-in-Residence, Jon Metzger, appears on three recently released recordings, including When Freedom Swings (a two-CD set with Ira Wiggins, saxophone and flute, Cyrus Chestnut, piano, Herman Burney, bass, and Alvester Garnett, drums, recorded at Sound Pure Studio, Jason Richmond engineer, and released by Iwiggs Music); Christmas (with Nneena Freelon, vocals, Derrick Gardner, trumpet, Ron Westray, trombone, Miki Hayama, piano, John Brown, bass, and Adonis Rose, drums, recorded at Fidelitorium Studio, Mitch Easter engineer, and released by Brown Boulevard Records); and Carolina Tracks (with Keith Waters, piano, Jim Ketch, trumpet, Steve Haines, bass, and Dan Faust, drums, recorded at Ovation Studios, William Stevens, engineer, and released by JSF Records for the NC Jazz Scholarship Project).
