Discovering African influences in Latin America – Feb. 28

You're invited to experience African influences that are present today in many cultures, specially those in Latin America, through Afro-Latino music, dance and amazing food.

As part of Black History Month, Latin American Student Organization (LASO) and Elon African Society (EAS) are collaborating for an extraordinary event to raise awareness about the mixing that has taken place in the African journey through time and places.

Along with all of the dancing and eating, we will be having informal presentations on different ways that Africa has affected Latin American cultures. There will be history lessons, culture lessons and even dance lessons. And did we mention the free food?

Countries represented include:

  • Brazil
  • Colombia
  • Cuba
  • Dominican Republic
  • Honduras
  • Panama
  • Peru
  • Puerto Rico

Invite your friends and make a memory with LASO and EAS. This event is free and open to the public.

We will see you all there!
