Five Elon students competed at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Mid-Atlantic Region competition and conference on Saturday, April 5.
Renee La Schiazza, Michaela Vine, Lindsey Wells, Auston Henderson and Ethan Andersen represented North Carolina after winning in their respective music theatre and classical categories at the state level. Each student competed against other state winners from Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Two students achieved top honors at the regional level. Andersen won third place in junior/senior college music theatre men and Henderson won first place in freshman/sophomore college music theatre men. Both Andersen and Henderson have been selected to compete in the prestigious National Music Theatre competition in Boston this July.
