Ecumenical Worship focused on "Liberating the Poor: Faith and Service at Elon" – Sept. 10

Join us Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Numen Lumen Pavilion for ecumenical worship and to hear students from the Truitt Center and the Kernodle Center share about Faith and Service.

Ecumenical Christian Worship at Elon
This week ONE Christian Worship will focus on “Liberating the Poor: Faith and Service at Elon.” Worship will be mostly contemporary with one jazzed-up hymn. Student leaders from InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, HOPE (Helping Other People Eat), and the Kernodle Center (Elon Volunteers!) will share about faith, service, and service opportunities at Elon. Everyone is welcome. There will be homemade cookies following worship.

Also, students from the Truitt Center will be joining the Kernodle Center on the BioBus this Friday as part of the Get on the Bus program to visit Kopper Top Life Learning Center, a 30-acre farm that is home to more than 100 dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, ferrets and even a peacock! Volunteers help with feeding and grooming horses, giving therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children with and without disabilities, and bringing the smaller animals to nursing homes for animal-assisted therapy.

ONE is a collaboration of Christian ministries at Elon University, welcoming everyone, appreciating our diversity, celebrating our unity in Christ.  Worship style and format vary each week, as we invite different student groups to lead and participate. We provide opportunities for contemporary and traditional worship, gospel praise, contemplative prayer, and social justice work. Join us every Wednesday at 7pm. All are welcome.
