Two Elon educators and 70 students were inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa in a Feb. 8 ceremony.
Seventy students and two Elon University educators were inducted Feb. 8, 2015, into the national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa.
Associate Professor Jean Rattigan-Rohr and Jodean Schmiederer, associate dean of students for leadership, were inducted as well.
Rattigan-Rohr directs Elon’s Center for Student Access and Success and serves as the Faculty Administrative Fellow. Her keynote address focused on the importance of servant leadership and her work with the Village Project, a literacy project that connects college students with local students struggling to read.
ODK members are distinguished for high academic achievement, diverse leadership experiences, and demonstrated growth in leadership skills. The student inductees were invited to the Elon Circle of ODK after reaching the top 33 percent of the junior and senior class. Students who applied were selected for induction based on their exemplary leadership across five phases of campus life, including athletics, the arts, communication, scholarship, and community service.
