Amy Overman shares about neuroscience of learning at NC Association of Summer Sessions Conference
Amy Overman, a faculty member in the Department of Psychology and Elon University’s Neuroscience Program, and associate director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, presented a keynote address, “Using Neuroscience to Enhance Summer Learning,” at the North Carolina Association of Summer Sessions (NCASS) Conference on Oct. 2, 2015, at Elon University.
The invited address introduced basics of brain function related to attention, memory and metacognition. It focused on practical, empirically-supported strategies that staff and faculty could implement in order to apply neuroscience principles in summer college courses.
The NC Association of Summer Sessions was created in 1964 and meets annually to share “information and ideas about educational program development for summer school.”
