'WHAT ARE YOU??': A conversation asking about race and ethnicity – Feb. 18

Have you ever wondered how to ask someone their race or ethnicity? If so, come to D.E.E.P.'s chat on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in CREDE (Moseley 221) to have your questions answered.

Asking someone “What are you” is probably one of the hardest conversations to have. Are you asking about their race, their ethnicity, what city they come from, what country their come from, or where their accent is from? In this D.E.E.P conversation we will have roundtable discussions on the most appropriate way to ask those questions. The conversation will be Thursday, Feb. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in CREDE.

Diversity Emerging Education Program (DEEP) is the CREDE’s signature diversity education program.  DEEP aims to actively engage students, faculty, and staff in increasing their understanding of and appreciation for diversity and promoting activism for social justice through events and workshops in the Elon University community.
