Photoshop & inDesign Workshops – Wed 3/9 & 3/16

Want to learn the basics of Photoshop & inDesign? Join the Writing Center Lead Consultants from 5-6:30pm on Wednesday 3/9 and 3/16.

The Writing Center Lead Consultants will be facilitating a workshop on Wednesday, 3/9 and on Wednesday, 3/16 from 5pm-6:30pm in the CUPID studio, Alamance 318. Plan on attending the workshop for a fun and interactive time, highlighting all of the basic skills needed to navigate two of the most widely used design software programs on the market.

The Workshops will cover the following items:

File handling & workflow:

– Understand how to open, save, and export files.

– Understand different file types, color modes, and bit depth.

– Understand different workspace types and which works best for different projects.

Layers:

– Learn what layers are and how they work.

– Learn the basics of layer blending.

– Learn how to organize and group layers.

Basic tools:

– Understand how and when to use selection tools (lasso, quick selection, cropping, etc).

– Understand how and when to use manipulation tools (brush, spot heal, clone stamp, etc).

Project tutorial: Open and edit a photo, make a specific selection, separate the selection from the rest of the photo, and export the file.
