Final Presidential Debate Watch Event – TONIGHT

Elon's final Presidential Debate Watch event will be held at Danieley Center’s Daniel Commons at 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19.

This event is designed to help educate students about the candidates and issues at stake in this November’s election and takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. in the Danieley Center’s Daniel Commons.

Elon Votes!, Danieley Neighborhood, Colonnades Neighborhood, Council on Civic Engagement and National Campaign for Political and Civic Engagement will serve as the hosts and coordinators of this evening’s event.

This is one of a series of programs this fall designed to enhance civic engagement efforts on campus. The series is supported by Elon Votes! and the Elon Political Engagement Work Group.

Elon Votes! is a nonpartisan campus initiative created to provide students with the necessary resources to register to vote and learn about issues at stake in upcoming elections. The initiative is run by Elon students June Shuler and Gabby Vance, who serve as Andrew Goodman Foundation ambassadors. The Andrew Goodman Foundation’s Vote Everywhere is a nonpartisan, experiential program that recruits, trains and supports emerging leaders at colleges and universities across the country.

The Elon University Political Engagement Work Group is a nonpartisan collaborative team that involves students, faculty and staff representing areas such as the Department of Political Science, Study USA, Center for Leadership, Student Government Association, Residence Life, Student Media, Truitt Center and National Campaign for Political and Civic Engagement. The group’s charge is to implement voter education activities and increase student participation in local, state, and national voting and election initiatives.
