Winter Weather Update: Information about services, events on campus

Please regularly check this note for any changes in hours for facilities and services on campus as well as updates or cancellations for events scheduled throughout the weekend. 

The National Weather Service forecasting snow with accumulations of up to 11 inches in the area beginning Friday night and tapering off midday Saturday.

In light of the disruptions this winter weather event might cause, please find below a list of facility hours, available services and events scheduled during the next several days that reflects the most up-to-date information available. E-net is the very best information source during this winter event and is updated regularly to reflect any changes, advisories or cancellations. Information about campus delays and cancellation is also available via telephone at 278-SNOW.

It is important to wear proper footwear when walking as spots on the campus may be slippery. Please know that snow and wintery mix weather is not frequent in this area, and many roads and highways will not be plowed and suitable for travel. Additionally, many persons are not accustomed to driving under these conditions. It is advisable to avoid driving

Please contact the Campus Safety and Police dispatcher at (336) 278-5555 to report any unsafe conditions request assistance for emergencies or general information.

Below are the services, hours of operation and activities scheduled for this weekend: 

MOSELEY CENTER

Open regular schedule: Friday 7 a.m.-1 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m.-1 a.m.; Sunday 9 a.m.-1 a.m.

CAMPUS RECREATION

Open Friday 6 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.- 10 p.m.

HEALTH SERVICES

Sunday open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students should call (336) 278-7230 for appointment; Sunday by appointment only. Sick rides will not be in operation.

BELK LIBRARY

Open Friday until 9 p.m.; Sat. 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday open 10 a.m.

DINING SERVICES

Friday: Normal hours except Acorn will close at 11 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday:

  • Acorn open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Lakeside open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. & 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Topio’s open 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. (pizza, salads, snacks, beverages, convenience items)
  • Einstein’s open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Qdoba open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Fountain Market open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If weather improves, Winter Garden and Colonnades will open Saturday and/or Sunday for their normal hours.

The Danieley Tram and BioBuses will be on the normal schedule Friday, however we will be monitoring road conditions for evening routes.
