Two seniors receive sales leadership award

The Chandler Family Professional Sales Center recognized Sophie Pearson ’17 and Brett Huntley ’17 with the Earl D. Honeycutt, Jr. Sales Leadership Award.

Seniors Sophie Pearson and Brett Huntley received the Earl D. Honeycutt, Jr. Sales Leadership Award at the Elon Sales Leadership Dinner on May 2.

Hosted by the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center, the annual dinner honors top graduating professional sales students.

The award recognizes a senior majoring in marketing or minoring in professional sales who has shown leadership in the sales program, has the potential of impacting an organization, and has demonstrated an overall positive attitude in supporting their fellow sales students.

Assistant Professor Erin Gillespie, director of the Chandler Family Center, and Professor Emeritus Earl Honeycutt, founding director of the Chandler Family Center, presented the award.

Pearson, a strategic communications major and professional sales minor, and Huntley, a marketing major and accounting and leadership studies double minor, competed in the Great Northwoods Sales Warm-up and the National Collegiate Sales Competition as members of the Elon Sales Team.

Pearson was commended for her hard work on the sales team, her positive attitude, and her focus on helping her teammates succeed. She will begin her sales career with Liberty Mutual this summer.

Huntley was recognized for her hard work as part of the sales team, her outstanding performance at the National Collegiate Sales Competition, and her willingness to help her classmates prepare for their future sales careers. She will begin her sales career with NetSuite-Oracle in June.
