Leaders of the Twenty-First Century highlights members of the Class of 2017

The annual celebration honors outstanding fellows and scholars, providing them with the opportunity to share details of their work with their faculty members, peers and families prior to Commencement.

Through speeches, videos and even an interview with Elon University President Leo M. Lambert, outstanding members of the Class of 2017 had the opportunity to share details of their scholarship and accomplishments during Commencement week.

The annual Leaders of the Twenty-First Century celebration honored graduating Business Fellows, Communications Fellows, Elon College Fellows, Honors Fellows, International Fellows, Isabella Cannon Leadership Fellows, Lumen Scholars, Teaching Fellows and Periclean Scholars.

Among those sharing the stage spotlight were Kelly Reagan, who produced a mathematical model of Dengue Fever; MaryClaire Schulz, who studied corporate social responsibillity and women’s entrepreneurship; Ben Bridges, who focused on globalization in Quechua communities of Southern Peru; and Leena Dahal, a Lumen Scholar who studied the impact of social media following the devastating earthquate in her home country of Nepal. Dahal graduated with majors in strategic communications and and international studies; she has been selected as a Gates Cambridge Scholar and will continue her studies at Cambridge University.
