Elon’s Commencement rain plan is in effect

The undergraduate Commencement on Saturday, May 19, will be divided into two ceremonies and held in Alumni Gymnasium in Koury Center. Please read this message for important details.

Elon University’s 2018 undergraduate Commencement will be moved indoors due to the threat of heavy rain and thunderstorms. All preparations for the rain plan are complete and the full Commencement event will proceed as follows in two separate ceremonies. Graduates attend the Commencement ceremony associated with their degrees. There will be no exceptions to this policy — graduates who miss their assigned morning ceremony will not be included in the afternoon ceremony.

The full Commencement program and addresses will be included in the ceremony. Graduates will walk across the stage and shake President Book’s hand and will receive their diplomas as they exit the stage.

Each student has received two rain plan tickets for guests and all available tickets have been distributed. Tickets for the 9:15 a.m. ceremony are white. Doors for guests with rain plan tickets to Alumni Gym will open at 8:30 a.m. Only guests with the appropriate rain plan ticket will be admitted to Alumni Gym.
