After succeeding Mat Gendle as Faculty Ombudsperson on June 1, 2019, Professor of Mathematics Jeff Clark attended a workshop in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 22-24 offered by the International Ombudsman Association.
The workshop ran through the principles behind work as an ombudsperson before role-playing (and critiquing) different scenarios where visitors would seek the counsel of an ombudsperson.
