Elon University’s Center for Environmental Studies will host a forum Sept. 24 from 4-6 p.m. in McKinnon Hall to discuss climate change and its future effects on the environment.
The public event, called “Changing Waters Changing Climate Changing Times,” will look at challenges associated with changing climate, wild rainstorms, flooding, chemical pollution in waterways and shifts in land use.
Main speakers include Kathie Dello, director of State Climate Office of North Carolina, and a representative from Governor Roy Cooper’s office. Panelists include Mike Borchers, assistant director of the Division of Water Resources in Greensboro; Amy Cameron, stormwater manager with the City of Burlington; and Cy Stober, development director with the City of Mebane.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged to provide adequate refreshments.
