Elon alumna Kennedy Caughell ‘12 will be taking on the role of Carole King in the North American Tour of “BEAUTIFUL: The Carole King Musical,” beginning Sept. 20.

Shortly after graduating, Caughell performed across the nation and abroad as Heather in “American Idiot.”  Since then, she has been seen in multiple regional theatres and New York’s own New York Musical Festival. Caughell also traveled the country by broomstick in the National Tour of “Wicked,” covering Elphaba.

Most recently Caughell took the Imperial Theatre Stage in the Broadway production of “Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812,” understudying Helene and Marya D. Caughell joined the cast of Beautiful shortly after in the leading role of Carole King. She will now reprise her role on the National Tour.

Caughell will begin performances in “Beautiful” in Utica, New York. The show will play 105 theatres in the 2019–2020 touring season, including premiere engagements in Worcester, Massachusetts; Midland, Michigan; Wallingford, Connecticut; Thousand Oaks, California; Folsom, California; and more. More information about the National Tour is available here.
