Title IX office to give presentations on policies, procedures with series of live Q&As

Elon's Title IX Office will be hosting presentations on policies, procedures and resources for support in collaboration with confidential Violence Response. These sessions are open to all students and they can register below.

Throughout this semester, there has been an omnipresent conversation surrounding Title IX policies and procedures – what they are, how they work and how they are implemented. In these vital conversations, students, faculty and staff alike have noticed a number of misconceptions circulating the student body, particularly on social media.

In order to provide increased transparency and clarity on the Title IX and Sexual Misconduct policies and processes, the Title IX Office and the Gender-based Violence Prevention Team organized through the Gender & LGBTQIA Center are working together on a series of presentations. These presentations will take place during the following times and interested participants can register using these links:

Oct. 21, 7:30 p.m.

Nov. 3, 7:30 p.m.

Nov. 8, 7:30 p.m.

Staff from the Title IX Office and confidential Violence Response staff will facilitate these presentations. Each will consist of a comprehensive overview of processes and resources followed by a Q&A session. This format is designed to communicate the nuance of the Title IX and Sexual Misconduct policy and procedures to the student body in a brief and palatable manner while highlighting important considerations, such as the federal mandates on university Title IX programs. Each presentation will include snacks sponsored by student and university organizations, including the Panhellenic Association, the WGSS Minor and the Performing Arts Department.

All students are encouraged to attend and gain a thorough and informed perspective on the Title IX and Sexual Misconduct policy at Elon as well as resources for support.
