Futrell, associate professor of music, will judge wind ensembles and choirs in South Louisiana festival.
Elon Director of Choral Activities Stephen A. Futrell will appear as adjudicator for the Bayouland Concert Festival taking place in Matthews, Louisiana from April 4 through April 6. Futrell will be judging middle and high school wind ensembles and choirs.
Lafourche Parish School System Music Supervisor Jim Trant said, “We are excited to have Dr. Futrell back in Louisiana. He has appeared a number of times over the years to perform workshops for our teachers, clinics for our students, as guest conductor for festival ensembles, and just before COVID, appeared as conductor of the Louisiana All State High School Choir. We continue to invite Dr. Futrell because of his reputation as an exemplary teacher, outstanding musicianship and his experience and expertise as both an instrumental and choral conductor and musician.”
