Elon University is adapting the schedule for Family Weekend 2022 in light of inclement weather caused by Hurricane Ian.
As announced by Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley, Family Weekend events scheduled to take place Friday, Sept. 30 after 1 p.m. have been cancelled, included Fall Convocation. That includes:
- Registration and check-in
- Information session: Global Education and Study Abroad/Study USA
- Fall Convocation with Ashley Judd
- “Phoenix Winds” ensemble concert
- Music Department faculty concert
- Casino night
On Saturday, Oct. 1, Family Weekend programs will begin at 10 a.m. The Academic Connections informal conversations with faculty are canceled, but most other activities will occur on a modified schedule. Friday Sept. 30. Saturday’s football game will be played as scheduled at 2 p.m. Please check www.elon.edu/news and www.elon.edu/familyweekend for additional updates.

Saturday, October 1
Coffee with the President
Schar Center | 10 -10:30 a.m.
Join President Connie Ledoux Book, members of Elon’s Senior Staff, and other Elon families for coffee and a continental breakfast to kick start your Saturday. This event has been moved indoors due to the weather.
Schar Center | 10:30 – 11 a.m.
President Book will welcome families and provide a university update.
Elon Campus Story Tour
11 – 11:45 a.m.
Join us for a special campus bus tour just for grandparents. Get an insider’s view of the university and enjoy the beauty of the campus, which is a designated botanical garden and a member of the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta. Buses will depart from and return to the Schar Center for those who wish to join the Phoenix Fan Fest.
Football game vs. Richmond
Rhodes Stadium | 2 p.m.
Cheer on the Phoenix as they take on fellow Colonial Athletic Association member, the Richmond Spiders. Tickets are available through the Family Weekend registration site and will be sent to you digitally. Tickets are final sale; no returns or exchanges. Students may use their Phoenix Card for a complimentary ticket in the student section.

Family Hospitality Suite

McEwen Dining Hall, Clohan Dining Hall and Lakeside Dining Hall | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Help cap off your weekend with a special Family Weekend brunch served in three of our top-notch dining halls. Students joining their families can use a meal plan swipe for their meal.
