Pratheep Paranthaman presents virtual guest lecture at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute

Assistant Professor of Computer Science Pratheep Paranthaman discussed the applications of brain-computer interface in a virtual guest lecture organized by the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute (RGNIYD), India.

Assistant Professor of Computer Science Pratheep Paranthaman recently presented a virtual guest lecture at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (Institute of National Importance) Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, India on November 28, 2022.

Paranthaman’s lecture was on the topic “Towards Applying Brain-Computer Interface in User Research and Interactive Applications.”  Graduate students from data science, computer science, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity participated in this lecture.

In this talk, Paranthaman discussed fundamentals of brain-computer interface (BCI), applications, and examples from his ongoing research projects in virtual and mixed reality game systems. Paranthaman also demonstrated prototypes from his research involving the incorporation of BCI in games research for investigating players’ emotional states. For this, he showed a live demonstration of applications controlled using a BCI device.
