The Center for Design Thinking advances HealthEU goals with the Division of Student Life

Elon’s Division of Student Life partners with the Center for Design Thinking to design their semester with wellbeing at the forefront.

Elon students and design thinking team leads, Aaron Chan ‘26 and Anya Bratic ‘26, presented to Elon University’s Division of Student Life on behalf of Elon by Design during a workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The Division of Student Life is a group of Elon staff committed to the mission of providing a well-rounded college experience for the university’s students. Elon by Design is committed to cultivating design thinking beyond students in the classroom. A great opportunity to pursue this mission was at the first fall meeting of the entire division of professional staff.

The workshop had an engaged and contributive audience of 120 members and was an extremely successful kickoff for a new academic year.

Chan and Bratic facilitated a customized version of one of the center’s many workshops, integrating HealthEU commitments and strategies into a session around designing your life for wellness. The workshop emphasized prioritizing personal wellness and setting achievable, but ambitious goals.

Student Life staff found the session valuable for prioritizing their goals for the year.

“The Design Your Semester session was a perfect start to Student Life’s Divisional Meetings. It allowed us to reflect on our personal and professional goals, center our well-being and build community amongst the division. The presenters did an amazing job facilitating the session and keeping the entire division engaged. We cannot wait to have them visit us again,” Dean of Student Inclusive Excellence Jonathan McElderry said.

Elon University’s Center for Design Thinking offers workshops, consulting, conferences, and so much more for the university and local communities to learn the impact that design thinking can have in our lives.
