The chemistry of pumpkin spice at the center of latest Physics Tea event

Lecturer in Physics Jeremy Hohertz tells all about the season's favorite taste at the weekly Physics/Astro Tea.

It takes lot of chemistry and physics to start with kitchen ingredients and end up with delicious pumpkin spice muffins. Jeremy Hohertz, lecturer in physics, explained his recipe for “pumpkin spice,” and everyone taste-tested alternate versions of the muffins to appreciate what different ingredients are responsible for. One thing was clear – without the spice, pumpkin muffins fail.

Next week, Associate Profess of Physics Martin Kamela will address the entertaining topic of the meaning of quantum mechanics. Join us every Wednesday 3:20-4 p.m. on the third floor of Innovation Hall.
