Astro/Physics Tea features discussion of nugget galaxies

Derrick Carr talks to the Department of Physics about nugget galaxies

Derrick Carr, a graduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill, recently spoke to the Department of Physics about his research on nugget galaxies. These small and relatively rare galaxies offer special insights into the evolution of galaxies and the role of hot and cold gases in star formation.

Hosted weekly by the Department of Physics, Astro/Physics Tea promises engaging discussions, thought-provoking ideas and a delightful spread of refreshments. Open to all students, faculty, and staff, this gathering is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow physics aficionados in a relaxed and informal setting. Meetings take place in the third-floor lounge of Innovation Hall at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesdays.
