An Elon engineering student was recently featured on several local television stations in North Carolina and Virginia.
Cassidy Parrish ’26, an engineering student from Portsmouth, Virginia, was recently interviewed by WAVY, a TV station in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and WFMY, the CBS affiliate in Greensboro, North Carolina, about her research redesigning a glove to help her father with joint pain and movement.
Parrish and her mentor Jonathan Su, associate professor of engineering, redesigned a glove already on the market to fit her father’s specific needs.
“He’s always given so much back to me, supporting me through my journey, supporting me to go into engineering,” Parrish told WAVY. “And it’s your dad, you want to help him, he’s your superhero.”

Parrish presented her research at the Spring Undergraduate Research Forum on April 29. Read more about her work on Today at Elon.
