Elon’s Office of Sustainability is hiring Eco-Reps for spring 2026

Eco-Reps are peer educators who promote sustainability on campus by planning events and helping to build community among students interested in sustainability.

The Office of Sustainability is hiring Eco-Reps for the spring 2026 semester.

Eco-Reps are peer educators who work to help inspire students to live more sustainably. Each Eco-Rep is assigned to a neighborhood in which they plan sustainable events and work to implement sustainable practices among residents.

Elon University Eco-Reps

Eco-Reps provide Sustainable Living Lessons to classes and frequently collaborate with other student organizations and university departments to show the many intersections between sustainability and everyday life.

Leah Bahn is the current Eco-Rep for the Station at Mill Point. She has been an Eco-Rep since the spring 2025 semester.

“The most special part about this job is that I truly learn something new every day. I am constantly learning about new initiatives, and I also hear a variety of perspectives,” Bahn says.

She also emphasized the importance of how interconnected nearly every field and discipline is to sustainability. Events such as the Sustainability Week keynote speakers have allowed her to connect with a diverse group of students and learn about intersectional issues relating to sustainability.

“These events do a great job demonstrating that sustainability isn’t just an issue for environmental scientists, but it involves so many other fields as well,” she added.

The Eco-Rep application is available on Elon Job Network and is due by Nov. 2. Faculty and staff members are encouraged to share information about Eco-Rep applications with any students interested in sustainability. For more information on the Eco-Rep program and sustainability at Elon, please visit the Office of Sustainability’s website.
