Acclaimed American pianist Awadagin Pratt visits Elon University on Tuesday evening for a Whitley Auditorium performance as part of the Adams Foundation Piano Series sponsored by the Times-News and Elon University.

Elon University senior Charley Costa and junior Stephen Azar won top honors last week in the 2010 Eller Ethics Case Competition, a prestigious national contest hosted by the University of Arizona and featuring many of the top-ranked undergraduate business schools in North America. It is the second time in as many years that Elon students took first place in the competition.

Elon is one of a dozen universities where students this fall will be eligible to enter original screenplays in the nationwide Sprite Refreshing Films™ contest or apply to direct one of the six short films chosen for production.

In what has become a Homecoming tradition for successful young alumni, graduates of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and the School of Communications shared career tips and life advice Friday in "wisdom sessions" for current students as part of Homecoming 2010. Alumni from the School of Education held a similar program Saturday morning prior to the official start of football festivities around campus.

Phi Eta Sigma, a national honor society for first-year students, welcomed its newest members from Elon University on Oct. 25, 2010, in a McKinnon Hall ceremony to celebrate their academic achievement.
