Mark Enfield, associate professor of education, and Jen Hamel, associate professor of biology and Japheth E. Rawls Professor, receive funding from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund for the Elon Explorers program. 

Pre-service teachers met virtually with Meg Medina, a Newbery award-winning and New York Times best-selling author, to hear her story and learn how to represent Latinx culture in and through literature.

Lisa Brown Buchanan, associate professor in the Watts Williams School of Education, co-presented at the 4th Annual Teaching Black History Conference in July. Carter Center’s Annual Teaching Black History Conference brings together educators who seek transformative and engaging ways to teach PK-12 Black history in both history and humanities courses.

Annabelle Jones, a 2019 graduate of Elon's Master of Education program, was invited to participate in a new professional learning experience alongside educators in North Carolina, Iowa and Kentucky to learn, create, and share innovative practices in social studies education.

Erika Hernandez G'23 has been invited to present her research on promoting equity in elementary mathematics at the annual Latin American Meeting of Educational Mathematics (RELME) later this month.

Designed to support families in using strategies to foster their infant’s language development, Strong Beginnings for Babies focused on families of children slated to enter high-poverty schools at kindergarten or who were receiving Medicaid.
