Elon University Trustee Cecil Worsley ’86 P’14 and his wife, JoAnna ’87 P’14, will match all gifts to Elon Athletics up to $50,000 if 500 new donors are secured by May 13.

The annual celebration is an opportunity for alumni, parents and students to show their pride in Elon by making gifts and sharing their support on social media.

Codner joins Elon’s Office of University Advancement from Bucknell University and will lead efforts to grow the tradition of philanthropic support among Elon’s constituents. 

The campaign, which ends May 31, has achieved a 71 percent participation rate. 

The event, hosted by the Office of Alumni Engagement, brought Elon to the nation’s capital for a reception that drew more than 300 attendees to the National Geographic Museum.

A celebration on March 10, 2015, in honor of Elon’s birthday raised more than $702,000 to support students, scholarships, athletics, and faculty and staff.

The March 11 event connected the recipients of endowed scholarships with donors for an evening of fellowship in McKinnon Hall.

The day will include a Global College Coffee and opportunities for the Elon community to show they believe in the university by making a gift.
