The Maker Takeover returns on April 30, inviting all corners of the campus to experience hands-on expression, student innovation, and projects that turn big ideas into reality.

On Wednesday, April 9, local high school students and faculty from the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) visited the Francis Center on Elon University’s campus to learn more about biomechanics through engaging activities.

At a press conference urging raised awareness of sexual violence and its impact on communities, North Carolina Governor Josh Stein and Attorney General Jeff Jackson spotlighted the Guilford County Family Justice Center, where Elon Law staff and students provide emergency legal services.

The one-day symposium will address current events in the US and internationally, and bolster support for equal application of the law. The event is a joint effort between Elon University School of Law and the University of North Carolina Greensboro’s Lloyd International Honors College.

Elon’s Year of Service Fellows program allows recent Elon graduates to spend a year working in the Alamance County community.

By making service exploration more intentional, this tool empowers students to make a lasting impact while growing personally and professionally throughout their undergraduate experience and beyond.
