Winter Wonderland, a celebration in its third year, will take on a new form in 2021 as Elon Outdoors, the Student Union Board and Late Night Elon will invite students to take part in a three-day event.

The American Red Cross and Elon’s Kernodle Center for Civic Life hosted the January Blood Drive on Wednesday, Jan. 20, to collect blood donations in a time when the Red Cross desperately needs them.

The Jan. 19 event was a discussion with Hayes-Greene, co-founder of The Racial Equity Institute, by Vice President and Associate Provost Randy Williams and Assistant Professor Stephanie Baker.

Six Elon faculty from a variety of departments discussed the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol during “Reacting to the Insurrection at the Capitol,” a virtual panel discussion broadcast live to the Elon community on Jan. 15.

The event will feature a discussion available at www.elon.edu/live between Hayes-Greene, co-founder and managing director of The Racial Equity Institute, Vice President and Associate Provost for Inclusive Excellence Randy Williams and Stephanie Baker, assistant professor of public health studies.

Students can compete for prizes while answering questions about the Winter Term theme and other topics.

On Jan. 14, a multi-department faculty panel will reflect on the political, racial and historical significance of the recent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
