The Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators honored the assistant professor of marketing with the Lou E. Pelton Award for Early Career Excellence in Marketing.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times Magazine reporter and 1619 Project founder spoke to participants about mentorship, the colloquium’s theme, as well as her journalistic career covering race, politics and launching the 1619 Project.

Lynn Huber, Maude Sharpe Powell Professor, professor of religious studies and director of the Honors Program, was recognized with the Distinguished Scholar Award in August 2020 and delivered her lecture online on Thursday, March 18.

The three-day virtual event, which features numerous Elon faculty and students, kicked off with a moderated discussion with Nikole Hannah-Jones, founder of the 1619 project, Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times Magazine reporter.

Dean and Professor Luke Bierman joined with administrators from N.C. A&T State University, High Point University, and Guilford Technical Community College for a panel discussion during Leadership Greensboro’s 2021 Education Day. 

The associate professor of strategic communications examined the copywriting career of Margaret Fishback, a highly prolific writer of advertising copy, poems and magazine articles.

The statewide award recognizes the university’s efforts to grow its annual United Way campaign.

Huber, Maude Sharpe Powell Professor, professor of religious studies and director of the Honors Program, was recognized with the Distinguished Scholar Award in August 2020 for her impressive portfolio of books, articles, book reviews and other work in her academic discipline.

The university has seven annual staff awards to recognize the service and dedication of staff members from all corners of campus.
