Jessie Moore, Director of Elon’s Center for Engaged Learning, published a new book Understanding Writing Transfer that features work from Elon’s Critical Transitions: Writing and the Question of Transfer research seminar.

During winter 2017, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) faculty partnered to educate students on sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking and women offenders and to collaborate with community organizations. Outreach activities were supported by a Health Promotion Mini-Grant and the CAS Small Enhancement Grant.

Jessica Wery, assistant professor of education, has served in leadership roles with the international nonprofit during the past four years. 

The project, now on display, is from a Winter Term class that examined the music of the two decades, fromThe Beatles to the Bee Gees, and hippies to Nixon. 

Eleven North American scholars will participate in the center's first symposium, "On the Edge of Apocalypse," Feb. 9-11.

Federico Motka along with Joel Shelton, assistant professor of political science and policy studies, will present, "Rethinking Humanitarianism in a Fragmenting World: Lessons from Syria and Beyond” on Thursday, Feb. 9.

Political Science Professor Laura Roselle has published the book, "Forging the World: Strategic Narratives and International Relations," with the University of Michigan Press.  

Mark Cryan, assistant professor of sport and event management, has published an article examining the operation of an after-school youth soccer program for at-risk children.

Hall, a professor of exercise science, is co-director of the Elon BrainCare Research Institute and received the Distinguished Scholar Award from Elon last spring. 

The partnership was launched in 2015, and pairs Elon students with elementary school teachers and afterschool programs.
