International students who remain at Elon have adjusted to life during COVID-19 with the support of family, friends and the university community.

The French and international and global studies double major works with the International Organization for Migration in Burundi, a U.N. agency that supports migrants of all kinds. In the face of COVID-19, her duties have shifted to crisis communication and response in the East African nation.

A generous gift from Joan and Sam Nevin P’22 will make transformational opportunities possible for students while aiding Elon’s recruitment efforts. This gift is counted as part of the Elon LEADS Campaign.

Faculty members Rich Landesberg and Mark Dalhouse led Elon students to Des Moines, Iowa, where they were introduced to the culture of media and politics just days before the Iowa Democratic caucuses.

Assistant Professor of Performing Arts Keshia Wall choreographed the Black History Month Dance Concert, which was the result of a transformative Winter Term experience in Ghana.

Elon Law students traveled to Johannesburg and Cape Town as part of a fall trimester Prisoners’ Rights course that took them to American and South African penitentiaries, including the now-closed Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent nearly two decades as a prisoner.
