Elon University's board of trustees voted April 15 to establish a new School of Health Sciences, serving graduate students in the existing doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program along with students in the new physician assistant (PA) studies master's program, which will enroll its first class in January 2013.

Former Phoenix wide receiver Sean Jeffcoat '11 will continue his football career with the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, signing an undrafted free agent contract with the team.

Joe Ferrell '96 has been named the principal of Walter Williams High School in Burlington, N.C. He previously served as principal of Eastern Guilford Middle School and Hunter Elementary School in Guilford County.

A new ferryboat affiliated with Elon University sets sail on the coastal North Carolina waters this summer. All of North Carolina’s ferryboats are affiliated with colleges or universities in North Carolina and display the school colors and logos.
