Career Services director Tom Vecchione was interviewed at length for a special sections feature story in the July 11, 2010, News & Record newspaper about colleges and universities opening their Career Centers to alumni.

Los Angeles-area alumni joined President Leo M. Lambert and the Elon in L.A. interns at an Evening for Elon on June at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

The Elon University Board of Trustees elected three new members at its spring meeting. W. Eric Hinshaw of Durham, N.C., Dalton L. (Mac) McMichael Jr. of Stoneville, N.C., and James K. Sankey of Charlotte, N.C., will join the board at its fall meeting, Oct. 22-23.

Elon head football coach Pete Lembo announced last week that David Vaughn '80 has joined the Phoenix football staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

Alumni, parents and friends of Elon joined coaches Pete Lembo and Matt Matheny for a day on the links at the Washington, D.C., Alumni Chapter's first charity golf tournament. Held Friday, June 11, at 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Va., the event included a round at Northern Virginia's newest golf course and dinner for the more than 60 attendees.

A short film directed by Brian Stansfield ’06 and co-produced by Kyle Drexler '07 was named a finalist in a national short film contest sponsored by Canon U.S.A.

Heath Oldham '00 won an Emmy award from The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter for marketing work he did for WTVR-TV CBS 6 news in Richmond, Va., earlier in June.
