During its annual awards celebration, hosted April 18 in Turner Theatre, the school honored the achievements of several faculty and staff members, while also bidding farewell to Associate Professor of Journalism Rich Landesberg.

During its annual awards celebration, hosted April 18 in Turner Theatre, the School of Communications acknowledged exemplary student achievement, presented Outstanding Senior Awards, and celebrated this year’s inductees in the Kappa Tau Alpha honors society.

Lily Emlong is the next student to be featured in the “Career Moves” series, which highlights the achievements of Elon students and alumni who credit staff in Elon’s Student Professional Development Center with helping them achieve their professional goals.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards and Top 10 Under 10 award winners will be recognized at Alumni Awards Weekend to be held April 26-27.

The Elon alumna wrote and directed “Incomplete” for her cinema & television arts BFA thesis project, and the film won Best Student Short at the monthly festival in Los Angeles.

Max Wallace ’26, Brendan Antrosiglio ’23, and a student group in the Interactive Media graduate program all earned second-place awards in the Broadcast Education Association’s 2024 Festival of Media Arts.

Phillip Motley, faculty fellow for community-based learning, shares his expertise and efforts in faculty development and recruitment.

Titled “Game On: How Sports Media Grew Up, Sold Out, and Got Personal with Billions of Fans,” Bockino’s book – published on April 1 – is the first comprehensive, general audience history of the sports media industry.

The Elon University senior and assistant professor of communication design, as well as Live Oak Communications, earned Gold Awards at the inaugural AEJMC Festival of Visual & Interactive Media contest. Additionally, Matt Newberry’s work was recently recognized in the Graphis New Talent Annual, which celebrates the top creative work from students across the globe.

Wise, a double major in Arts Administration and Acting with a minor in Business Administration from Raleigh, North Carolina utilized the resources provided by the Student Professional Development Center and leveraged faculty connections to land an internship with a company that has been trusted to tell the stories that inspire, enlighten, and captivate audiences across the globe.
