School of Communications

Randy Piland, photojournalism professor in the School of Communications, spent a weekend last Fall photographing Boy Scouts from Troop 87, Maryville, Tenn., as they backpacked from Newfound Gap to Kephart Prong in the Smoky Mountains.

The School of Communications has provided an Apple iPad to each faculty and staff member as a form of professional development in a fast-changing communications world.

The Pendulum, Elon University's weekly student newspaper, and Colonnades, the university's literary magazine, were named 2010 finalists in the Associated Collegiate Press Newspaper and Magazine Pacemaker competitions Sept. 2. The Pacemaker is the highest honor ACP gives to its members.

Students in the School of Communications have been required to complete internships for credit for the last several years. The professional experiences they gain help them become more capable and confident in their classes and more marketable in their future job searches.
