Alumnus and acclaimed filmmaker Laith al-Majali will deliver Elon University's 120th Commencement address scheduled for Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Under the Oaks in front of West Residence Hall.

Anthony Hatcher, associate professor of communications, has published a review of a scholarly book in the Journal of Media and Religion.

Elon junior Lauren Ross, a leisure and sport management major, and associate professor Tony Weaver presented a poster titled “A Current Examination of the Historically Black Colleges and University Division I Athletic Directors” at the 2010 Scholarly Conference on College Sport in Chapel Hill, N.C., held from April 21-23.

School of Communications associate professor Frances Ward-Johnson has been named the recipient of the Faculty of the Year Award from the African/African American Studies Program.
