C-SPAN Civics Bus visits Elon – Feb. 13

The C-SPAN Civic Bus returns to Elon University on Feb. 13, 2009, with a new exterior design and features that include the latest television production equipment. The bus, which stopped by campus last year, will be parked at the Moseley Center from 9 a.m. – noon.

Elon instructor wins national award for dissertation

An Elon University adjunct instructor was honored this fall for her research on the way companies describe themselves, and how those descriptions give consumers a better understanding of what the business is really saying about its products and services. Linda Gretton, in the School of Communications, won the Association for Business Communication’s Outstanding Dissertation Award at its annual conference.

Final forum of Winter Term ’09 explores service

Some helped the homeless in Washington. Others repaired drywall and cleaned debris from hurricanes in Louisiana and Texas. All learned more about service. Students shared their experiences in recent courses in a forum held Jan. 27 as part of the Winter Term 2009 theme “Emerging Futures: Foresight for Global Good.”
