Frontani book adds to Elon’s Choice Awards

A book by communications faculty member Michael Frontani focusing on The Beatles was among the 2008 Outstanding Academic Title CHOICE Award-winners recognized by the American Library Association. Frontani joins history professors David Crowe and John Beck as winners of this year's CHOICE awards.

Leadership Fellows take civil rights tour during historic week

On the same day that the first African American took the oath for the nation’s highest office, Elon Leadership Fellows embarked to the Deep South for tour that connected history to the present. Twenty-three students traveled to Alabama and Georgia during Winter Term as part of a course on civil rights and nonviolence.

Students receive Study Abroad scholarships and grants

Three Elon students have been awarded federally funded scholarships to help support their spring 2009 semester study abroad experiences, while a fourth student is the recipient of a scholarship to fund her semester in Denmark.

Enduring Freedom veteran honored by LSM

The Department of Leisure and Sport Management welcomed home one of its own Friday as faculty, students and guests gathered in Holland House for Johnathan Harvey ’09, who returned to North Carolina last month from a four-month deployment to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
