Senior Charlie Peck’s concept for a solar-powered blanket to charge electric vehicles is one of the nation's 10 semi-finalist submissions shedding light on social causes.

The students join a global community of Fellows charged with increasing campus engagement with innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking and creativity. 

The building dedication during Homecoming offered the opportunity to express gratitude for supporters of the project including Elon parents Jim and Beth Sankey of Charlotte, N.C. The building is named for Jim Sankey's father, a business leader in Canton, Ohio, who passed away in 2013. 

The founder and CEO of Hint Inc., Goldin detailed her path to success during her visit to Elon to deliver the 2018 C. Ashton Newhall Endowed Lecture on Thursday, Nov. 1.
