Elon By Design

The Maker Hub and the Center for Design Thinking will partner with STEAM Junction, a makerspace in downtown Burlington, to "Make Burlington Brighter" at the first Phoenix 4th Friday.

The Studio’s first project, an accessibility mapping for visitors to the Elon campus, concluded in the spring and was approved by Design for America’s national organization in August.

Pamela Winfield, associate professor of religious studies, explains the applications of design thinking for her religious studies students, and how it has helped shape their problem-solving abilities.

Lake comes to Elon from Grand Valley State University to advance the university's design thinking initiative. 

 

A look at what happens when students visit Elon’s Center for Design Thinking to combine a class session with design thinking.

2018 was a year of tremendous opportunity for Elon’s design thinking initiative, Elon By Design. More faculty, staff and students were able to benefit from learning about the process, mindset and methods behind design thinking.

Hillary McDonald, third-year PA student attended the 2019 Triangle Health Innovation Challenge (thinc) held Feb. 1-3. The 3-day hackathon held at the Duke School of Medicine joined teams of students from the Triangle's regional colleges and universities to solve pressing problems in healthcare.
