Global Learning Opportunities

Emily Wilbourne is one of 19 undergraduate and graduate students studying abroad and Studying USA this fall. "The Nineteen" is a series where we’ll take a closer look at these students’ stories to learn how global education is happening in this historic moment.

Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Physician Assistant Studies, and undergraduate engineering students shared research during the first-ever Global Engagement and Research Forum at the Great Hall.

David Wong, associate professor of educational psychology and educational technology at Michigan State University, served as guest speaker for the second Global Education Symposium.

This year’s symposium will feature David Wong, associate professor in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education at Michigan State University. Wong’s area of interest and expertise include intercultural competence, global learning, and the impact of study abroad experiences.

Neja Uhan, a podiatrist from Oxford, will be working with the Department of Physical Therapy Education for the next nine months, collaborating with biomechanical and clinical foot research for runners.

The recent Global Education Symposium hosted by Elon's Center for Research on Global Engagement and the Doctor of Physical Therapy program brought experts to campus to talk about effective and collaborative global education initiatives. 

The School of Health Sciences Global Learning Opportunities Program hosted Elon’s undergraduate Chapter of Global Medical Brigades 2016 for a vital signs and medical terminology workshop. 

 

Paula DiBiasio, Brenda Quincy and Stephen Folger were honored May 21 for service, scholarship and teaching.
