Elon's Doctor of Physical Therapy program was represented strongly at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine in Denver, CO. Alicia Wilson and James Gerosa, second-year DPT students, also won awards at the conference.

Mellow, who is on track to graduate in December with her bachelor’s degree in nursing, received the Citizen’s Award from the Greensboro Police Department for her efforts to save a driver following a wreck.

Tracey Thurnes, Antoinette Polito and Crystal Ramsey traveled internationally in recent months to share their scholarship on topics that included the use of design thinking when approaching difficult conversations, destigmatizing patients with obesity, and treatments for traumatic brain injuries.

ABSN students became certified through Prevent Blindness NC to complete mass vision screenings at local schools.

The APTA North Carolina and the Student Special Interest Group (SSIG) hosted its 6th annual Student Conclave on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Wingate University. The co-chairs of the event were third-year Doctor of Physical Therapy students Deanna DeMarco, SSIG director of student involvement, from Elon and Morria Heilman, SSIG chair, from Duke University.
