Sang Nam, an assistant professor of Communications, delivered a talk on the Chusuk Holiday, the Korean version of Thanksgiving, at the 2009 Asian Autumn Moon Festival Oct. 10.

The Imagining the Internet Center and students in Elon University's Interactive Media master's program helped celebrate North Carolina's OneWebDay Sept. 22 during College Coffee at the Academic Village Plaza.

North Carolina's OneWebDay (http://onewebday.org/) celebration is being hosted by Elon University's Imagining the Internet Center and the students of Elon University's Interactive Media Master's Program. It will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Academic Village Plaza at the intersection of Haggard Avenue and O'Kelly Avenue on the Elon campus.

Interactive Media master's students wrote essays and produced videos in tribute to OneWebDay, which takes place Sept. 22.

Elon University and the School of Communications welcomed its inaugural class for the M.A. in Interactive Media program this year. Thirty-seven students are currently enrolled.

Janna Anderson, an associate professor in the School of Communications and director of the Imagining the Internet Center, was named to the steering committee of the Internet Governance Forum-USA (http://igfusa.wordpress.com/).

The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters gave School of Communications Associate Dean Connie Book an award for outstanding leadership and dedication to the NCAB.

Sang Nam, an assistant professor in the School of Communications and a teacher in the new Interactive Media master’s program, spoke at the Korean School of Greensboro Aug. 29 about cultural education.

Randy Piland has been active in the Boy Scouts since he was 11 years old. He's an Eagle Scout and has always enjoyed being a part of the Boy Scouts of America, so he continually looks for ways to give back to an organization that gave him so much. Piland used this summer to design completely a Flash-based Web site companion to the 12th edition of the "Boy Scout Handbook."
