National and International Fellowships

Louisa Sholar '20, an Elon University Honors Fellow, was one of three recipients of the 2019 Portz Interdisciplinary Fellowship to support research for her honors thesis. 

An assistant professor and program coordinator for the arts administration interdisciplinary major, McGraw earned one of the first Fulbright Specialist Grants in the field of stage/theater management.

Elon's Phi Beta Kappa chapter is pleased to host a presentation in LaRose Digital Theatre by the honorary's national visiting scholar. Lecture begins at 5 p.m.

Shariq Ali ’20, Ashley Jutras ’20 and Styrling Rohr ’19 have received Critical Language Scholarships from the federal government to study foreign languages deemed critical to U.S. diplomacy and outreach.  

Derrick Luster ’20 is competing for a highly competitive national fellowship awarded each year to those with goals of working in public service or government. Winners will be announced in April. 

Nine Elon alumni are now studying, teaching or researching in Finland, Germany, India, Spain and the United Kingdom through the prestigious fellowship. 

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study, and teaching opportunities to recent graduates in more than 140 countries, with approximately 1,900 grants awarded annually in all fields of study.

Elon is consistently ranked as a top producer of Fulbright students who teach, study or conduct research abroad after graduation.

The recent Elon graduate is participating in the fellowship that seeks to develop “the next generation of aspiring change makers” and will be working in a variety of sectors in New York City.

Derek Lackaff, associate professor of communications and associate director for the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, will join the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of Bergen for the 2018-19 academic year.
