Pugh, Copeland honored as Distinguished University Professors

Jeffrey C. Pugh, Maude Sharpe Powell Professor of Religious Studies, and David A. Copeland, A.J. Fletcher Professor and professor of communications, were formally awarded the Distinguished University Professorship at a special investiture ceremony on Nov. 13.

Allocco, associate professor of religious studies and director of the Multifaith Scholars program, presented material from her current research project, "Domesticating the Dead: Invitation and Installation Rituals in Tamil South India," which focuses on certain kinds of Hindu ritual relationships with the dead.
