Jeffrey C. Pugh, Maude Sharpe Powell Professor of Religious Studies, and David A. Copeland, A.J. Fletcher Professor and professor of communications, were formally awarded the Distinguished University Professorship at a special investiture ceremony on Nov. 13. 

Amy L. Allocco, associate professor of religious studies and director of the Multifaith Scholars program, presented material from her current research project, "Domesticating the Dead: Invitation and Installation Rituals in Tamil South India," which focuses on certain kinds of Hindu ritual relationships with the dead. 

The November GNA dinner featured “The Migrant’s Tale: A Panel Exploring the Meaning Behind the Movement.” The members of the panel, which included students, faculty, and Elon community members, discussed their different migration experiences.

Elon hosts the event that celebrates Sephardic heritage for the second year in a row

Associate Professor of Religious Studies Pamela D. Winfield participated in a lecture and book-signing event at The Japan Society in New York on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017.

The ceremony was organized by Pamela D. Winfield, associate professor of religious studies, and Toko Ishikawa of the Triangle's Nippon Club - Chanoyu.

The essays were published in response to Associate Professor of Religious Studies Geoffrey Claussen's recent book, "Sharing the Burden."

The 18th World Congress of the International Association of Buddhist Studies was hosted by the University of Toronto in August.
